Jesus Christ: One Man, One Sacrifice, For All of Mankind – FOREVER! – aleysha proctor
“But this Man (Jesus), after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.” Hebrews 10:12 NKJV
I recently read a statistic that, literally, blew me away! It boggled my mind and it HAS to be the BIGGEST lie that the devil has ever told – EVER! Are you ready for this?
53% of teens believe that Jesus sinned. WHAT?!
Where does such deception come from? How could scores of people (teens and adults) believe the greatest lie ever told? I can answer that for you. The lie came straight from the pit of hell and to believe it makes people comfortable in their own sin. That’s how rappers (and non-appers) operating under demonic influences can say things like, ―Jesus can’t save you, and life starts when the church ends” — and the hearer starts to believe it.
If Jesus did sin, then the entire Bible is null and void. Not just the New Testament, but the Old Testament as well, which proclaimed the coming of the Savior throughout the centuries. If He did sin — then we’re ALL doomed – no one can be saved! Sin cannot save sin.
It’s enough to say that Jesus was the only man WITHOUT SIN because the Bible says so – over and over again. But since God the Father’s holiness is never questioned, then let’s talk about Him for a minute.
- The prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 6 that he saw the LORD, high and lifted up and the train of His robe filled the temple. He went on to say that the seraphim (angels with six wings) who stand near His throne have two wings that cover their face, two that cover their feet and they fly with the other two. The four wings that cover their face and feet are out of reverence for a Holy God! And not only that, but day and night – night and day, they say, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!”
- Revelation 4 tells us about the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures in heaven who do not rest, day nor night, but whenever the four creatures say, “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come‖, then the twenty-four elders get up from their thrones, cast their golden crowns at His feet, bowing down before Him and say, ―You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.”
Okay, you should be getting the idea that He’s a Holy God!
- Revelation 21 tells us that when GOD creates a new world, the new Jerusalem, there won’t be any need for the sun, or the moon, and there won’t be any nights — no more cloudy days — the sheer GLORY OF GOD will illuminate the entire (new) world –EVERY DAY – FOREVER! Just by His glory.
In the Old Testament of the Bible, the priest had to sacrifice SPOTLESS lambs, bulls, goats or doves as payment for the people’s sins. These types of sacrifices went on and on and on and … The animals used had to be perfect, without sicknesses or blemishes, they had to be the best available; worthy to be a costly exchange. Yet the Bible says that they were insufficient.
Hebrews 10:3-4 tell us, “But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4For it isnot possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.”
Therefore, GOD the Father, in all of His holiness, prepared His own sacrifice that would satisfy the sin debt of mankind once and for all. Hebrews 10:5 says that GOD prepared a human body for His only Son, Jesus Christ. And just as in the Old Testament, only the best would do. GOD’s sacrifice had to be perfect — the fate of all of mankind was on the line! His Lamb needed to be without spot, without blemish — without sin.
When John the Baptist first laid eyes on Jesus, he said in John 1:29, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
And because Christ was sinless, we aren’t still offering up the blood of bulls, goats, lambs or doves. Because He was sinless, His one-time crucifixion has the power to forgive sins that haven’t even been committed yet. Two thousand years later, His blood sacrifice is still saving mankind, and will continue to do so forever.
1 Man, 1 Sacrifice, 4 All of Mankind — FOREVER!
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
