BOOK REVIEW – Is There A Samson In You?

Let me start by saying it’s not my nature to write a book review as my time does not permit such a luxury. However, that may change since I felt an extreme tug within my spirit to blog about following…

“Good things come in small packages” is an adage many of us have heard at some point in our lives and Is There A Samson In You? is such a package. Although a fast read Is There A Samson In You? permeates with such a profound message that you, yes you, the reader will be compelled to read this book over and over again.

His ability to juxtapose wording to clearly define and help his readers, especially women to understand the meaning of bondage from a male perspective is quite refreshing. Ladies, in order to really think like a man we must understand and have the ability to relate to his ‘being’. This little gem truly fits the bill.

In the twelve chapters (which I find not to be a coincidence since the number in Christianity represents governmental order, to wit a man is the head) Roseboro takes his laser scalpel and address the ‘hushed’ hurt, pain and bitterness that men have to battle within themselves; while simultaneously providing the much needed spiritual balm to rightfully heal themselves.

Without giving to much away I will state that I was intrigued by Chapter 6 A Sexual Escape and Chapter 7 Seduced By The System. I suggest you pay close attention to what the author is saying. Am I suggesting that only Chapters 6 and 7 are the best part? Absolutely not! I honestly feel both chapters create the bridge that merge the entire book.

For those of you who are more concerned about proper grammar such as the I’s being dotted and the T’s crossed along with whatever else you might be thinking let me answer in the following manner:

1. Was it well written? Yes.

2. Was the book properly formatted? Yes.

3. Does the author clearly convey his message? Yes.

4. Is the book an easy read? Yes.

5. Did you notice any grammatical errors? No, I did not.

6. Did the author pay you to write this review? No, he did not.

7. Is it worth the purchase price? Well let me answer by asking you this:
a) Do you love your man?
b) Do you want to understand him better?
c) Do you want to help him through his healing process?

8. When will the author be appearing on the show? Mr. Roseboro will be interviewed on
PWICU Wednesday, September 1st at 7:00 pm (EST).

Since we have that out of the way I’d like to close with this final pondering quote from the author himself…

“Men often times suffer in silence during their time of midnight bondage. Our quiet screams knife through the atmosphere, but only to pierce the realm of our own frustrations.”
